My Private Little Salad

I don’t eat leaves. I have difficulty digesting any kind of leaf. I can sort of manage endives, but that’s a big compromise.

I try to never eat leaves… Which makes for an interesting salad.

When I was younger, my mother would prepare salads with each of our dinners. The ingredients included iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, carrots and cucumbers.  My grandfather from Manchester, England insisted we eat this at every supper.  He called it “ruffage” and it was required for good digestion. Now, I think not!
